Know your enemies


It's sad but its true, your organization is going to have some enemies. The best thing that you can do to help insulate yourself from enemy attacks is to know as much about your enemies as possible. Maybe you represent an environmental company. Find out about the conservative right. How have they fought against environmental companies in the past? How did the companies respond and which response was the most effective? You will need to find he answers to these and similar questions before going into battle with any group.


One way to get the necessary information about your potential enemies is by contact similar organizations and agencies and finding out about there experiences. By reading journals and magazines on your subject, you will also be able to find out important information about the people or groups that would wish you ill. Once you find out the names of your enemy organizations, get to know the leaders personally. After all, the enemy you know is better than the enemy you don't know.
