Practice, practice, practice


After all, practice makes perfect right? So, what is it that you should practice? How about starting with press releases? You may have never had to do a press release because your company is not in the public eye.

Well, the first time to do a press release, after there as been some disaster that put you in the public eye, is not a good time to learn. Find out what you can about a good press release. There are things to learn. For example, you should write it at about an 8th grade reading level. Do you know how? Do you know how to find out what grade level you are writing at? Find out and practice until you can hit the 8th grade level with no problem. You should also keep your press releases short and concise. Practice writing like this by posting PR comments in a column on your company's website or in the newsletter. Remember, your press release comments may be reported by the media.
