Press Release Online

Why would someone want to submit a press release online as opposed to mail, fax, or telephone? Because most journalists and editors use the internet every day and it has been said that over seventy five percent of journalist get their press releases online. So in short, someone who is submitting a press release is going to hit a much larger audience (and thus consumer base) if they submit online.

There a different ways to submitting press releases on line. There are many companies that will take your press release and submit to hundreds of journalist and editors for you. If you own a company and you submit several press releases a year it may be worth it to hire one of these middle man companies. These companies would submit them quickly and have people on hand to make sure that it gets done, thus greatly lessening your work load.

You can find these companies simply by doing a search on line. If you were to type in, "Submit my press release on line," you will literally pull up hundreds of companies just waiting to do your work for you.

There are different prices and options when choosing an online company to use. Some companies charge per article, where as others charge a yearly fee. Obviously if you are an owner of, or part of, a large company who may submit virtually hundreds of releases a year (regarding different product announcements, company benefits, and such), it would be best for you to join a company who charges only a yearly fee. If you are someone looking to be interviewed and appear in the press yourself, thus you are submitting only one press release pertaining to a particular story or event in your life, you will want to use a company who charges per article.

It may be more expensive to use a middle man if you are submitting only one press release about a particular event, that is why you will want to make sure your headline is catchy and journalist are immediately going to want to read your press release.

One way to make your headline catchy is by simply stating what the press release is about. For instance, "I caught Oprah with another man," is going to tell the journalist quickly what you are writing about and they will know whether or not they are interested immediately and whether or not it is worth there time. You do not want to use a headline that is going to make the guess what your article is about, such as, "Famous celeb, caught cheating." This is such a common storyline, and since you are stating no real names, your article may quickly be passed by or excused as nonsense.

You want to keep your articles to one to two pages. Journalist are going to literally be scanning dozens of articles a day and if you make it past there reading your headline, you don't want to bore them with the rest of the release. Make the press release simple, to the point, and make it quickly readable so they don't have to waste a lot of time on it but can quickly make up their minds.

Are there ways to submit press releases online that are free? Certainly! You can email your press release to the different journalists you are interested in, or you can even use a mass emailing list. The problem with this is generally it is going to take you a lot longer to get your press release out to everyone you might be interested in reading it, and you might not know of a lot of journalist. Also if you choose to use a mass email list more than likely your press release will end up in the journalist spam folder and never even be seen.

So although there is not one particularly best company to choose to use as a middle man, there are a lot of companies to choose from and they are probably the cheapest, quickest, way to get your press release out to a large audience.
