Publicity Tips for Adding Employees to your Company

There is a story about one company who surprised all their employees with an all expense paid trip to Disney World one year. The media were immediately on it, covering the reaction of these employees. This company made it to the first page of the newspaper plus made it on the news that night. Pretty soon people all around wanted to come work for this company.

If you are looking for ways to get new employees, it's not really necessary to do something huge like pay for all your employees to take a vacation, but you can do things to get people interested in your business.

People wanted to come work for this company because their surprise, all expense-paid trip, was a reflection of how they treat their employees. It put the message out that they care about their employees and treat them well.

No one wants to go work where they are bossed around all day and never treated well. It doesn't even have to be that. No one likes to work where their efforts go unnoticed and unappreciated.

The employees need to feel worthwhile and they need a work environment where they are not on edge all day. Where even though they are working, they feel like the can relax because they work in a pleasant environment with pleasant people.

Any company who has this, should be able to get new employees very easily, if people know they are there.

One way to get your name out is to start a publicity campaign. Something where people will see your business's good qualities and want to come work there.

Though the business who bought the all expense-paid trip to Disney World did get many new people interested in working for them, something that dramatic isn't necessary. It's the idea that's necessary.

The idea that people were able to see a little bit of how that business ran, and because they liked what they saw, they wanted to join it.

That is what you want to get out for the public to see. You need to present before them things that will attract them to your business.

If your employees are more than just co-workers, but also friends, people need to see that. If they see that in your business has a good, fun, relaxing environment, that is definitely a plus.

They also need to be able to see under what conditions they will be working. Will they be standing all day, sitting all day, will they be in room with lots of people, or shut up in a room alone. What will it be like for them and why does it give the reason to join.

Basically you need to show them why working at your business is what they want to do. Like the all expense-paid trip to Disney World, except to a lower degree.

You have to keep in mind that what attracted people to that business wasn't necessarily the trip. They would be joining after the trip was already over. It was the respect of the head guys for the little guys.

It was also the fun spontaneity of what they did. A business that wasn't all work work work, but also a little bit of relaxing and rewarding for everyone's hard efforts. People will be willing to work harder if they know that their efforts are appreciated.

So go out and let people know what your business is all about. Advertise, pass out flyers, have a web page people can look at, spread your information amongst your family and friends . . . make people aware that you are there and that your business is a great place to be.
