Publicity Tips for Schools

So you have a school and you need to have more publicity or all your hard work and efforts that you have put in to the school will be wasted.

Maybe you need more students or maybe you need donations so you can get better equipment.

Or maybe you're a school who has a lot of students, great teachers, great equipment, and you really just need to let people know who you are.

Well, you are not going to get anywhere by just sitting there wishing that you had a lot of publicity. You have to get up and DO something about it. But what can you do, you ask? A lot of things.

The easiest thing to do would be to start talking. Tell your friends, your family, your acquaintances, tell everyone you know about how much you love your school. How great it is. How awesome your students are. Your top quality teachers.

Tell them how much for your students have playing your different sports. How high they score on tests. Talk your school up and people will want to be part of it. They will want to support it.

Start thinking of things you can plan that will get people's attention. Something like a big fundraiser to help low income families have enough money to get their children great education. Something that will interest people so much that the media will want to cover it.

You could pass out flyers and hold fundraising activities at your school. A fun event that people need to pay to get into. Something that will be worth paying to get into.

Start an "out of the ordinary" contest. Something that will be fun for your students while at the same time it will grab the attention of the community. Send home letters to parents telling about the contest and asking for their support to help their child win.

The more people you can get involved, the faster your name will spread.

If you win award, announce it to the newspaper. Announce the reasons for which you won the award. Maybe because of your great teachers, quality education, clean school, great activities, or something of the sort.

You have to let people know about your successes and things. They can't support what they don't know. You may have a type of school that everyone would love and want to be part of, but they don't know you're there and they don't know all of your assets, and so they just look right past you without realizing it.

Besides all this, academics are huge. You may have the most exciting events, the weirdest contests, and hold awesome fundraisers, but if your students don't do well, people will look down on that.

Help your students do well. Inspire them to work hard and do their best. When they do well, make sure everyone knows.

If you have a school and your students score in high-rankings on tests, announce it in the local newspaper. Make sure people know that you are a school who knows what's important and is excited when your students do well.

If you have a student that wins a contest or a student who receives an award for their excellence in athletics, announce it.

The most important thing is just to do things. Don't sit in a school full of incredible stories and wait for your stories to get told. Get up and spread the word.

Do things with your students. No one will like a school that is all classroom and studying and no play. Have a good balance and make sure the public can see that.
