Speech! Speech!

You need to practice giving speeches. As a public relations specialist, you will eventually be asked to speak in front of people. When that time comes, you need to be ready. If you are nervous, practice in front of a video camera and get a look at yourself at the podium or behind the mic. This will really help your nerves.

Another thing that will help your nerves is to know exactly what you are going to say. Rehearse the speech until it is memorized and then bring it with you just in case. Once you do start speaking, don't, for any reason apologize to your audience about the speech or about your nervousness. This will be interpreted as weakness at it will reflect poorly on the company. You are the public relations person; you should be exuding confidence when you speak.

Remember to thank the audience when you are done.
