White Paper
A white paper is used by many businesses. It is a paper that either explains the purpose of something and its function or it can mean an article that explains things in depth and provides tips.
The first: a paper explaining the purpose of something and its function.
The something in this case could be a company's new release of a certain product. If a company had a product that was well liked and used, such as Apple's iPod, then they might write a white paper every time a new version was released.
If someone has one product and they upgrade it then they would probably write a white paper explaining the product and what it does. They would write a paper to let people know about it and why it is so great. If people did not think it was great they would not want to buy it.
People could also write a white paper if they came up with a new service. Maybe Wal-Mart added a food court inside each one. The might write a white paper so explain the purpose of doing this and the function of the food court inside the store.
Basically it would mean that companies write about and explain new steps that they take either in their products or in their services.
The second: an article that explains things in depth and provides tips.
This could be something where a company writes a paper to explain something people do not understand. Maybe they have released a new product and there have been questions about how to use it.
The company could then write an article explaining how the product is to be used and provide tips to help people. This would be good for people because then they could grow to trust the company more.
They would know that the company would come through for them when they needed it. It would help the company publicly because people would start to spread this goodness and the multiplier effect would take place spreading it around to more and more people.
A white paper is good for businesses and people because it helps businesses to explain their stuff and people to gain trust in businesses. It is a good program really. If people could not trust the businesses the businesses would lose business and may not be able to stay in business. That would be no good for them.
White papers are a good tool. They originally started out only as a government thing and they were not papers, they were small books. They did spread though and they are now used in technology.
White papers are important for businesses to do so that people can trust them and know how to use their products. They are important so that when a new product is released people will know about it and want to buy it.
If people do not know about it and how to use it then they will not want to buy it and it would just be a waste of money for that business which would be awful. White papers give reports that are backed with authority so that people know they can be trusted.
If a white paper were written by the janitor of a company people would probably not want to read it, but because it is written by people who know what they are doing and what exactly the product is then people will know they can trust it.
